Feathers

The saying; It's easy to be an angel when no one ruffles your feathers, holds true. When things are going well we find it easy to bring our best forward. It is when we are tested by a situation however small, insignificant or large seemingly unsurmountable that we get salty in a hurry perhaps over react or react in such a way that would be best to take a step back, breathe and collect ourselves.

If it were that simple though when we are unwillingly thrown into a den of hungry lions or a place or predicament we would rather not be in. Something dreadful, uneasy, awkward or uncomfortable prompts anxiety and immediately messes with our nervous system, consequently emotions get out of whack. Our responsibility is to get a grip, keep ourselves together and take hold of those flighty knee jerk reactions that are so predicatable in their ability to get the best of us perhaps turn us into something we are not truly right with. We are faced with a necessary reconnaissance of sorts it is time to check-in with ourselves and find a way to disengage from something that attempts to wreck havoc on us, starting from within. When we make our way toward peace we can then thrive rather than live with a bitter attitude and not merely exist to traverse through the obstacle courses of life waiting for something to go wrong. Why deny ourselves the freedom to live with an open heart and mind and be better and stronger and braver for the wear and tear? When we are challenged to extract something good from the follies and foibles it is at that point we can fine-tune ourselves, progress and evolve into a new and an improved person.

Life is easier when we choose the kinder path of a peaceful existance, forgive when it would be easier to hold on to anger, resentment, disgust or disappointment. For our own mental health and well being we look for and hopefully find a happy medium over and through trying times and not look for problems and reasons to be annoyed. No doubt it is much better to consistently set ourselves up to navigate through the sharp edges and bumps on the road, through all the plucking and ruffling of feathers and find our way to smooth roads that lead to calm waters, peace and much less hassle.
